Same issue, only we have had service with them for nearly 20 years. They say there is absolutely nothing they can do about it.
They refuse to even help by splitting the deposit fee into equal monthly payments to allow for affordable payment option. They claim that is above the capability of their customer service representatives. What kind of company refuses to accept payments on the deposit they are demanding from a current customer? Idiots!
Incompetent idiots. Poor customer service is putting it lightly, absolutely no respect for honest hard working Americans who try to do the right thing but sometimes need a little extra help! Must be nice to sit up on your high horse collecting money and threaten family's to cut of their power because they can't afford the ridiculous "Additional Charge" of $300 upfront just to keep their service running!
Made my decision to move out of Forsyth County much easier. Next time I'll make sure companies like Sawnee EMC do not hold a Monopoly on the electric supply in the county I move to!
